Mentoring
The Anti-Bullying Alliance have a free online CPD course for teachers and others working with children and young people about bullying and how to deal with it.
Golddigger Trust is a Sheffield charity working with young people around issues of self esteem and sexual exploitation. They run 'I'm The Girl I Want To Be' courses for girls (11-18) and 'Made of More' courses for boys (11-18). These are delivered in schools and youth groups around the Sheffield region. They also offer these courses as a weekend residential organised in conjunction with the hosting youth worker/school.
They also run a session called 'Choose your own Adventure' which is about child sexual exploitation, e-safety and abusive relationships for young people aged 13-18.
TLG Education Charity works to bring support, care and education to make sure that children have a hope for the future and that their life is not over before it’s even started. This may be through a volunteer offering one to one help to act as a mentor, right through to intensive support of young people and their families that have been excluded from school.
XL-Mentoring is part of national organisation XLP. XL-Mentoring offers a practical way for your church/organisation to engage with young people who are struggling and on the fringes in your community. The training programme will help you learn how to build relationships with local schools and other referral agencies, source and train volunteer mentors, and navigate relationships with young people and their families. Each mentoring relationship is established between an at-risk young person and a trained volunteer mentor, who meet weekly over the course of 12 months. Click on the logo to visit the website.
